This section of the website introduces the department’s governance structure: the department is managed by the Head of Department who represents the structure for all legal purposes ensuring autonomy and cultural communion.

In order to pursue its own institutional tasks the department has administrative and organizational autonomy in relation to spending, contractual and agreement dispositions dealing with entities whether public or private; in compliance with existing regulations, not applying to general provisions or issues assigned to identified bodies within the Sapienza University’s Statute.

The governing bodies of the Department are: Department Council, Head of Department and Department Committee.

The Head of Department is assisted by the Chief Administrative Officer in charge for the overall management and administrative-account processes and jointly liable for acts undertaken.
